TAAFE: digital services guidance service launched

On Monday 11 October the service of advice, guidance and support for digital services run by the students of Istituto Besta officially started. Created in response to the demand for support from the over-65 population, the service is open to anyone wishing to acquire the basic skills to orient themselves in this growing universe. The initiative is now hosted by three senior citizens' clubs: the "Villa Letizia" Recreational Group, the "Oltre Cagnan" Group and the "La Restera" Senior Citizens' Group. Two afternoons a week, on Mondays and Fridays from 3.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., for the duration of three weeks, students and citizens will meet to face together doubts and perplexities related to these topics and overcome the small obstacles posed by technology in everyday life.

Monday's meeting, held in the garden of Villa Letizia, was the first opportunity for a collective meeting between the students, the presidents of the senior centres and some of their members, the TRIO and the teachers. Some common rules were identified, doubts and expectations shared and, finally, the activities started.

Given the great success of the initiative, which raised a lot of interest in the community and saw a large number of participants from the outset and grew over the weeks, a new cycle will be launched early next year.
